Tone

This week, we've focused on inferring the tone of a text based on the words.

Jeffrey dialed the combination and opened his gym locker. There was his navy blue backpack, hanging on the hook where he'd left it, but something seemed strange. Nothing looked tampered with, yet a chill ran up his back as took down his bag. He checked its contents carefully, but his books and papers were all there. Even his pack of gum was still in the side pocket. I must have been imagining things, he thought to himself as he put the bag on his back, closed the locker, and started out the school doors. Then he remembered: He'd put his new gym shoes in his backpack after PE class this morning because he wanted to wear them for basketball practice tonight! Jeffrey ran back to his locker, but they were nowhere in sight.

1.
What kind of tone is evoked by the passage above?

* Explain!!! To get full credit for your explanation, make sure you:
- Tell me what the word (adjective) MEANS

I think it is d because angry mean to be mad at something and in the story it's said dat he was mad when I had a feeling that someone went in his locker

1.c.Suspicion 2."strange" "A chill ran up his back" 3.suspicion means that something doesn't feel right with someone and they get some kind of feeling that something's missing. For example the boy thought something was missing/something was strange with his locker and when he was about to walk out the door he remembered he left his shoes in his locker after gym and they were no where to be found.

C. suspicion.
Evid: "but something seemed strange.","Nothing looked tampered with, yet a chill ran up his back as took down his bag.","He checked its contents carefully."
Suscpicion: is assuming something has or will happen[ed]. Sometimes you get a gut feeling or a thought that makes you believe that something might have happened while you weren't looking. Or even that something will happen. Jeffrey had a gut feeling that he's missing something in his bookbag, although he didn't see anyone take anything or anything happen to his things. He just felt it. He was suspicious.

*My answer is c

*A chill ran up his back as he took down his bag.
*but something seemed strang.

*sispicion means the act of suspecting guilt or wrong doing with little to no proof.and when he said something seamed strang he suspected something but he have no proof. sothat why i picked the answer choice of C because the tone of the passage is suspicion.
